The Lord almighty didn't always bestow Wales High with warm sunny days, there were also dark cold winter days.
Not all lessons were your favourites, some lessons tested your mental strength and I can only guess that is a lesson in its self?
On many occasions I stared out of the classroom window onto that
winter-swept landscape of Todwick daydreaming of a swashbuckling adventure and occasionally I would be dragged back into the classroom by some theatrical magic.
It may have been the funny sound of a rogue flatulence or someone who had tilted too far back on their chair desperately trying to grab fists full of air only to lose their battle with gravity, (A Physics lesson there.) subsequently ending their dream of joining the circus. It may also have been a question for the teacher and for one brief moment the teacher was lost for words, but what ever it was it brought the house down with guffaws.
