Wales High School opened its doors in September 1970, welcoming students from across the local villages including Harthill, Todwick, Wales, Thurcroft and South Anston.
Despite its name, the school is actually situated in Kiveton Park, not the small neighbouring village of Wales less than a mile away. Over five decades, it has grown to become one of the area’s most respected comprehensive schools, achieving academy status in 2012.
