SICK NOTE 1975
It was the PE's ritual for Mr Day and Mr Stewart to hold court for all those who fell ill or forgot their PE kit. It was a funny spectacle to watch, unless you was in the dock yourself.
Each in turn would read out sick notes written by mummy and would ask us all to shout out. "Aww."
I was standing there once when I made the big mistake of forgetting my kit. Standing in front of your mates and seeing their sniggering faces was a humiliating experience. Sentence passed by the Judge and punishment was to wear the biggest pair of shorts and XXL shirt.
I never forgot my PE kit again.
