" ASSEMBLY STINK BOMB " 1974
Schoolboy humour..
Those assembly stink bombs have to be up there in the Wales High league table for funny moments whether it was maximum house points for Busli, Mortain, Rolo and Warenne.
I remember those assemblies at Wales, sitting crossed legged, back aching and sitting uncomfortable for what seemed like an eternity .
There he was our Headmaster giving his weekly sermon on the mount. He begin slowly and quietly and then he would ratchet up his speech to a fast spitting loud angry lectern thumping rant.
Occasionally, when our Headmaster was reaching his crescendo there was the good ol' assembly floor clapper. Biology saving us from his Biblical sermon of the week, it was pure schoolboy humour at its best, comical timing and a theatrical masterclass but, chemistry not so good!
Part of your blazer would be over your nose and mouth to protect you from the gas attack and also your blazer helped to suffocate your laughter and believe you me we laughed, oh boy did we laugh.
